The child guard arrived safely yesterday and we have been trying it out this evening albeit without the wall brackets which my husband will screw on tomorrow (no grandchild here so quite safe!). It fits exactly as I had envisaged and looks as good as a child guard possibly could. The fire has been going for 2 hours and the top of the guard is warm but not at all hot and the lower part cooler.
I am very pleased with it, thank you! I also really appreciate the advice you gave and all our very satisfactory interactions.
